Caelum
“Beyond the veil of realities, chaos and order dance and I hold the reins. Treading lightly upon the fabric of worlds, I am the arbiter of destinies. Crowned or crownless.”
~ Caelum
Caelum is one of the Neutral characters of The Veil. A being born before the first cycle by the primordial gods Takamimusubi and Kamimusubi under the command of Amenominakanushi, who served as an avatar for The Great Will. What was intended as a mortal birth instead turned him into a demon, and The Great Will directly marked him as a Messiah - against the very plan of The Great Reason.

All previous powers and abilities on an unfathomably greater scale, as well as Summoning (Capable of creating and summoning copies of demons, gods, and other entities with their powers upscaled to his own level), Immortality (Types 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8; the Type 8 component reflects his reliance on The Axiom as a conduit for indefinite reformation at this stage, he can return to The Axiom to reform indefinitely, though this reliance is fully shed upon Post-Transcendence), Spatial Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Light Manipulation, Darkness Manipulation, Elemental Manipulation (Fire, Ice, Force, Lightning, and Earth, all of which pierce through resistances of any kind), Healing, Statistics Amplification, Statistics Reduction, Attack Absorption, Attack Reflection, Resurrection, Resurrection Negation (Has purposely erased beings permanently, disallowing any form of revival, including the Primordial Man Adam Kadmon, Polaris, and Canopus, defying the Mandala System and by extension The Axiom), Energy Manipulation, Magic, Curses, Life & Death Manipulation, Non-Physical Interaction (Can harm incorporeal beings), Conceptual Manipulation (Erased The Four Prime Factors to prevent Canopus from existing through its connection to the fundamental concepts of higher dimensions; created a wholly new canvas to replace The Four Prime Factors as the new basis of existence, so that the many realms beyond dimensional scope do not collapse), Existence Erasure, Nonexistence Erasure (Far stronger than characters capable of destroying and harming pure nothingness and nonexistent beings with nothing but normal attacks), Regeneration Negation (High-Godly; wounded The Great Will so severely they could no longer regenerate), Resistance to BFR (Ignores attempts at removal from a situation, even those from The Great Will), Plot Manipulation (Unfathomably far beyond Ishtar, who could not affect Caelum with it, while Caelum could directly rewrite Ishtar’s own plot; which was written as “Defeating Caelum and consuming his essence”, with Ishtar herself acknowledging: “Fate nor Future controls this outcome, it’s the silent hand of necessity, ensuring that this will be what is.”), Resistance Negation, Power Nullification, Petrification, Durability Negation, Status Effect Inducement, Electricity Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Reality Warping, Time Manipulation, Disease Manipulation, Causality Manipulation, Cosmic Awareness, Information Manipulation, Law Manipulation (Capable of bending and breaking the immutable laws of any universe or boundary, even those established by The Great Reason and/or The Great Will; has created new laws that are fundamental and immutable even to the Throne of Creation or The Great Reason, such as allowing certain people to retain their memories after each cycle), Probability Manipulation, Void Manipulation, and a vast array of other abilities (Capable of doing battle with Demons who can create and fully manipulate entire Universes with their existences alone, and of reproducing these powers effortlessly, having proceeded through them with nothing but brute force), Chaos Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, Fate Manipulation (Far superior to beings such as the Norns, whose influence over Time and Fate binds even Demon Gods who exist beyond all of time and space. Scales from Maya, whose illusions are capable of bringing forth entire futures into existence. The Great Will decreed his fate to perpetuate the cycle as a Messiah throughout all of existence and non-existence - even if he were to leave, he would perpetuate it in a new Universe, Dimension, or reality of his own creation. Normally this would be impossible to defy, but Caelum achieved it through sheer will alone. Directly changed the fate of the Crownless Kings fighting The Great Will so that they could win.)
(Note: These abilities are not exclusive to this form, they are merely kept contained by Caelum to this form so he can better maintain a human appearance. He may access these abilities at any time regardless of his current form.)
All previous abilities now expressed without the framework of The Axiom as any kind of constraint or intermediary, on a scale that is unimaginable by nature, as well as the following clarifications and additions:
Abstract Existence (Type 3, superseding the prior Type 2; after transcending The Axiom, Caelum no longer functions within the dependency of the Messianic Archetype; he still embodies it, but is not defined or constrained by it. Affecting the concept of Messiah no longer affects him in return. The Great Will’s law preventing the Messiah from attacking them became irrelevant upon his transcendence. He may alter his own existence at will with respect to how any opponent or external force may interact with it), Acausality (Type 5, the full and uninhibited expression of what was always an intrinsic property of his existence; not something caused by transcendence, but revealed by it; Caelum became “truly independent of cause and effect” in a total sense, such that The Great Will could no longer affect him through any causal mechanism. He no longer follows any rules of The Axiom and can will himself out of any reality governed by any entity. This independence from causality was never contingent on an event granting it, his origin outside of cycles and prior to causal frameworks confirms this nature was always present; transcendence simply removed the final layer of self-imposed constraint), Immortality (Types 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10; Type 8 no longer applies as he has shed all reliance on The Axiom as a conduit entirely. Type 10 is warranted because The Axiom is the foundational framework governing all of existence within his cosmology, with every layer of reality, every dimension, and every law of temporality and life and death operating as an expression of it. Post-Transcendence, Caelum exists completely outside this framework, not at a higher position within its hierarchy but beyond its frame of reference in its entirety. The ordinary laws of reality, temporality, and dimensionality of any number hold no jurisdiction over him, as the very system that defined those laws no longer contains him. His interaction with any reality is purely voluntary, reaching into frameworks from without rather than existing within them, such that his existence cannot be engaged with, threatened, or ended by anything operating under the logic of The Axiom or any comparable framework unless he wills it), Cognitive Physiology (Archetype; Caelum is the literal Messianic Archetype existing as a shapeless, fundamental unit of the collective unconscious)
At least Universe level (Due to being a Messiah. His Human Disguise does not limit his power; his own will does, and he typically limits himself to the scale of the Universe he currently resides in.) | Outerverse level+, far higher with Willpower (Fought and killed every demon a countless number of times, including Lucifer and Satan, as well as every angel of YHVH such as Metatron and Mastema. On record as having killed YHVH countless times in former cycles; fought and severely wounded The Great Will; was able to make use of the Throne of Creation.) | High Outerverse level+ (Transcended The Axiom entirely, beyond all imaginable scopes; beyond even the notion of the framework that The Axiom constitutes, while helping the Crownless Kings defeat The Great Will. This was described as “Beyond Impossible” by The Great Will, a being of Omniscience, meaning this feat was unfathomable even to them. The Axiom is now akin to “a tool” for Caelum rather than his progenitor or master, having freed himself from its dominion while maintaining and exceeding its benefits, achieving true independence from The Axiom itself.)
Immeasurable, far higher with Willpower (Able to cross into realities, universes, and dimensions beyond the concept of distance from his own by willing it. Can move outside of time and through it. Has traveled through and beyond planes of existence that are infinitely greater than anything beneath them.) | Immeasurable, far higher with Willpower (Able to strike The Great Will and YHVH.) | Immeasurable (Upon leaving his original Universe, he departed from the very aspect of The Axiom as a whole: “Dimensions folded and unfolded around them, not as barriers, but as malleable aspects of their will. Time itself seemed to hold its breath as they moved, a static canvas for their transcendental journey”, traveling to a reality where The Axiom does not exist, nor any avatars or aspects of it.) | Omnipresent (Exists as an archetype, a shapeless, fundamental unit of the collective unconscious.)

Supergenius. A far beyond skilled combatant even in his Human Disguise, proficient in any weapon. Can understand the magic of any Reality, Multiverse, Universe, or Dimension instantly without need of his Omniscience or his Adaptation. Reads and speaks every language of any Reality, Universe, or Dimension simply by hearing a single word. Can physically map and translate infinite distances so that anyone can understand them. | Omniscient; even upon entering entirely new multiverses, universes, dimensions, or realities, he can comprehend all of it at will.
Has a soft spot for mortals, as he deeply desires to be mortal himself. | Tends not to interfere with mortal affairs, particularly those involving higher beings. | Often chooses not to use his Omniscience when exploring a new plane of existence. | None otherwise notable.
A set of skills that, as the name implies, allows the caster to greatly amplify their own physical attributes and reduce those of their foes, closing or even reversing the gap in power between combatants. Outside of gameplay limitations, they can be stacked indefinitely; sufficient uses of buffs allow the caster to survive attacks that would otherwise obliterate them with only minor injuries, and amplify their speed to the point of completely outpacing opponents that could previously predict all of their movements, while debuffs have a directly proportional effect on the enemy’s statistics.
- Luster Candy: Increases all statistics of an entire party (Strength, Speed, and Durability) by one rank.
- Debilitate: Decreases all statistics of an entire party (Strength, Speed, and Durability) by one rank.
- Dekaja: Removes all buffs from all foes.
- Dekunda: Removes all debuffs from himself and all allies.
The highest class of spells in the Megami Tensei franchise and by extension the FATE The Veil story - powerful non-elemental attacks with the special property of completely bypassing any resistances or immunities that a target may possess, whether innate or magically enforced, including reflective barriers and items that distort the very laws of the universe to protect the user from all forms of damage. They likewise cannot be blocked, dodged, or drained. Caelum’s arsenal is vast, encompassing the powers of every Demon, God, and Primordial entity he has recruited, summoned, or fused to his service, as well as replicating their powers. Some of the most notable include:
- Megidola and Megidolaon: Unleashes a wave of destructive energy dealing heavy damage to all foes to differing degrees, with the added effect of forcibly dragging opponents into its area of effect should they be outside of it, engulfing them in “the complete annihilation beyond death.”
- Megidoladyne: The most powerful member of the “Megido-” family of skills, dealing heavy almighty damage across the entire battlefield, with destructive power increasing by 50% relative to its previous instance with each use.
A class of spells unique to FATE The Veil, standing alongside Almighty Attacks. They are powerful, non-elemental attacks sharing all properties of Almighty Attacks, created by Caelum to additionally apply or remove any effect he chooses. He may layer in the effects of abilities such as Debilitate, Dekaja, status effects from other spells or attacks, his Innate Skills, or any of his Powers and Abilities. Star Attacks always reach their intended target or targets regardless of where they are; including across other planes of existence, higher or lower realities; pulling them from said existence if necessary.
- Celestial Bolt: Unleashes a massive star-shaped blast at a single foe.
- Constellation Burst: A shower of stars from higher planes strikes all enemies.
- Astral Mirror: Traps any spell or attack inside a star, then either destroys the star (and the spell within it), or releases the spell with a new target, carrying all of its original effects alongside all Star Attack properties.
- Star-Wrought Will: Commands anything with any semblance of a mind or will, forcing them to do anything he wishes - even if the task is impossible for them, they will accomplish it if he wills it.
- Stellar Dust Shower: Fires a star-shaped wave at an enemy.
- Primordial Radiance: Calls down a massive star spanning the entire intended area of effect, excluding himself.
Caelum possesses a vast array of innate skills he may use at any time. They may erase free will, alter the fundamental aspect of a battle, recontextualize moments he wishes to change, or even reshape events from ages or cycles that have past up to the present moment. These represent only a fraction of what his Innate Skills encompass; the actual scope of his skills is not quantifiable even at a rudimentary level.
- Star Body: Caelum’s body reacts to immense damage, even from Almighty Attacks or his own Star Attacks; by altering his very state of being or non-being from the moment of impact, using his Subjective Reality to restructure the nature of the damage he sustained at its source.
- Gaze of Messiah: By looking at any being, non-being, or object, Caelum perceives all of its weaknesses and may assign it a new weakness of his choosing.
- Rivers of Magatsuhi: Gathers Magatsuhi from his surroundings or from his vast; more than merely infinite, personal reserves, to increase his potential or grant himself buff effects equivalent to Luster Candy or more fundamental strength.
